AICTE – CII Survey of Industry-Linked Technical Institutes 2015

Dear Sir/Madam,
Can coal thermal plants ever be clean? What is the track record of Indian thermal plants in terms of efficiency, pollution, fly ash and water management? What must be done to make sure that thermal power plants in India meet energy requirements but do not cost us the environment. These are the questions my colleagues at CSE's Green Rating Project (GRP) have spent the last two years looking at. Our study covers the top power companies of India, most of which have participated voluntarily in the exercise and based on this we have rated who is best and who is not.

We are now ready to release the environmental rating of the coal and lignite based thermal power sector and would like to invite you to the release function. We hope you will come.

As you may know, the green rating is an independent study, which is based on extensive surveys of plant sites and analysis of data under the guidance of a panel of industry and academic experts. It, therefore, has the credibility to drive performance change. In the past, we have rated India’s major industrial sectors including steel, cement, automobile, chlor-alkali and pulp and paper. We have found these ratings to be an effective tool to drive environmental improvement in industry. We hope we will make a similar contribution through this study.

The release is scheduled for February 21st at 4.30-6.30 pm at Jacaranda Hall, 1st Floor, India Habitat Centre,
Lodhi Road, New Delhi 110003.

We look forward to seeing you. Please send your confirmation atvikas@cseindia.org.

With warm regards

Chandra Bhushan

Dear Sir/Madam,

AICTE – CII Survey of Industry-Linked Technical Institutes 2015

AICTE announces the 4th edition of survey on industry–academia collaboration in technical institutes being conducted in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) since 2012. This survey has been successfully mapping the industry linkages of Indian technical institutes across four streams—Engineering, Management, Pharmacy and Architecture / Planning.

We request Indian institutes offering full time degree / diploma courses in the covered fields to participate in the survey to showcase the best practices for industry linkages and highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the technical education ecosystem in India. A brief information about the survey and the national advertisement announcing its launch is attached for your perusal. The list of courses under the covered fields is also enclosed.

To apply, kindly log on to the AICTE Web portal (http://www.aicte-india.org/prmportal_enu) using your AICTE’s login credentials and click on CII Questionnaire—the online application form.

A detailed help manual is available on the given link (http://www.aicte-india.org/ciisurvey.php) to provide step-by-step assistance. This Help Manual can be downloaded for easy understanding and reference. It is advised that institutes first download the Help Manual and collect all the data related to all streams.

Filing of Application: 1st Jan 2015 – 30th Apr 2015
Visits to Institutes: July – August 2015
Announcement of the Result: October, Knowledgexpo 2015
