Unique address of a computer on the internet, made up of three parts: (1) name of the entity, followed by (2) type of the entity, followed by, if located outside of the US, (3) entity's geographical location. Domain names provide an easy way to remember internet address which is translated into its numeric address (IP address) by the domain name system (DNS).
